Susan works with survivors and their families, schools, and communities to support survivors of sexual assault in middle and high schools. Susan also advocates for a transformed justice system that conforms to ethical standards that do not involve blaming and shaming the victim, promotes understanding of the biology of the brain in traumatic situations, and ensures sexual assault victims’ rights are equivalent to the rights of other crime victims.
Elizabeth provides executive leadership to I Have The Right To after a three decade long career in nonprofit management and fundraising. Elizabeth is a strategic thinker, respected thought leader, and a leading voice globally on high impact giving, especially among women.
Morgan conducts senior-level research for I Have The Right To in addition to managing social media and assisting in communications. During her time with I Have The Right To, Morgan cataloged over 1000 reports of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault in American schools alone in this map. Morgan also works with each year’s class of I Have The Right To interns. Morgan is a graduate from the University of Georgia.
Brylie Turk is I Have The Right To Outreach Coordinator and Social Media Content Manager. She is on track to graduate from the University of Georgia.
Chessy is a subject matter expert and Co-Founder of I Have The Right To. Her memoir, I Have The Right To; A High School Survivor’s Story of Sexual Assault, Justice and Hope, documents institutional complicity in sexual assault and provides hope to survivors and parents. Chessy is a writer, filmmaker, advocate, and internationally recognized public speaker. She is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University.
Lucy is an advisor to I Have The Right To. Lucy is a graduate of Georgetown University and is a student at the University of Colorado-Denver, pursuing a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Gender-Based Violence. Driven by goals of addressing equity and access in reimagining the criminal justice system, her research interests include restorative justice and interpersonal violence, gender-based violence, and diversion programs.
Mike is an advisor to I Have The Right To. A 20+-year veteran teacher at secondary schools, Mike has earned several major teaching awards and chairs. He also has taught engineering technology and statistics at the graduate school level. Mike’s statistical analyses have appeared in book chapters, refereed journal articles, and in presentations for a wide variety of audiences and applications. He has made approximately three dozen technical presentations including to the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS). Mike earned his Ph.D. in Educational Research from the University of Virginia.
