TARGET’s A NEW DAY + VITAL VOICES Collection Pairs Great Design with a Meaningful Cause

Chessy Prout, Co-Founder of national nonprofit IHavetheRightTo, was 1 of the 6 women to work creatively on collaborating with Target on the A New Day + Vital Voices collection. #UseYourPowerToEmpower #TargetxVitalVoices

After surviving a sexual assault in high school, Chessy became an activist and author, publishing her memoir and launching the #IHaveTheRightTo movement.

“For too long I think people who have been victims of a sexual assault were told to just suffer in silence, that this happens to everybody, and that we shouldn’t be making a big deal of it. But it is a big deal, and it really impacts our lives. And so we have the right to speak up and use our voices. And I was given a platform to be able to speak out and I really wanted to use that to help other survivors feel like they could own their stories too.”

The 25-piece capsule collection will be available at select stores and on Target.com. It features a curated assortment of dresses, skirts, moto jackets, graphic tees, pouches and scarves, as well as note cards, notebooks and pens, all at an exceptional value. Among our favorites? A graphic tee with the words, “Use Your Power to Empower.”
